Zusammenfassung

Das Reizdarmsyndrom (RDS) und die funktionelle Dyspepsie (Reizmagen) sind chronische Erkrankungen des Verdauungstrakts und eine diagnostische sowie therapeutische Herausforderung. Zur Diagnosestellung werden vor allem in Studien meist die Rom-IV-Kriterien herangezogen. Im klinischen Alltag haben sich die nach der deutschen S3-Leitlinie modifizierten Diagnosekriterien zumindest beim RDS als unkompliziertere Alternative bewährt. Für die Diagnosestellung sind eine gründliche Anamnese und Basisdiagnostik mit möglicher gezielterer Diagnostik zum Ausschluss organischer Erkrankungen unabdingbar. Die Klinik beider Störungen ist variabel, sodass anhand führender Symptomcluster eine Einteilung in Subtypen vorgenommen werden kann. Dies kann auch das weitere therapeutische Vorgehen erleichtern, das symptomorientiert und probatorisch erfolgt. Richtig eingesetzt können die medikamentösen und nichtmedikamentösen Therapieoptionen zur Symptomkontrolle und damit Verbesserung der Lebensqualität beitragen.
