Die Körperzusammensetzung von Hobbygamern im Vergleich zu deutschlandweit erhobenen Referenzdaten

Zusammenfassung

Rund zwei Drittel der Erwachsenen in Deutschland sind übergewichtig oder adipös. Während ein Anstieg des Konsums von hochkalorischer Nahrung als Hauptursache gilt, wird die Stärke des Einflusses von verschiedenen Formen sitzender Tätigkeiten noch kontrovers diskutiert. Ziel der vorliegenden Studie ist es, die Körperzusammensetzung von Hobbygamern mit deutschlandweit erhobenen Referenzdaten zu vergleichen und Auswirkungen eines intensiven Konsums von Computerspielen (Gaming) auf die Körperzusammensetzung zu untersuchen. Insgesamt 68 männliche Teilnehmer einer Computerspielveranstaltung im Alter von 18 bis 46 Jahren (27,9 Jahre; 180,1 cm; 83,5 kg; BMI: 25,7) wurden mittels bioelektrischer Impedanzanalyse (BIA, Typ Nutriguard MS, Data Input) hinsichtlich Fettmasse, Körperzellmasse, extrazellulärer Masse, Körperwasser und Phasenwinkel untersucht. Zehn Probanden wurden mittels segmentaler 8‑Elektroden-BIA im Abstand von 24 h während ihres Veranstaltungsbesuchs wiederholt gemessen. Als Referenzstichprobe wurden deutschlandweit in 168 Orten Daten von 278 gleichaltrigen männlichen Erwachsenen (27,9 Jahre, 179,4 cm; 78,8 kg; BMI: 24,5) erhoben. Die Hobbygamer berichteten im Mittel 37,1 h Bildschirmmediennutzung pro Woche. Sie zeigten im Vergleich zur Referenzstichprobe einen leicht höheren Körperzellmassenindex (p < 0,01, T = 4,07), jedoch keine Unterschiede im Fettmassenindex (p = 0,96, T = 0,05) und Phasenwinkel (p = 0,90, T = 0,12). Im 24‑h-Retest-Design konnte ein signifikanter Anstieg des Körperwassers (T0: 48,2 l, T0+24h: 49,3 l; p = 0,04, T = 2,39) und Rückgang des Phasenwinkels der unteren Extremitäten (T0: 7,40, T0+24h: 6,85; p < 0,01, T = 5,40) nachgewiesen werden. Hobbygamer zeigen im Vergleich zu den deutschlandweit erhobenen Referenzdaten keine Unterschiede in gesundheitlich relevanten Parametern der Körperzusammensetzung. Nichtsdestotrotz konnte nach intensivem Gaming eine kurzfristige Erhöhung der extrazellulären Wassermenge in den unteren Extremitäten nachgewiesen werden. Die gefundenen Störungen im Wasserhaushalt legen die konsequente Durchführung von Bewegungspausen beim Gaming nahe.
