In einer Studie aus China kommen die Forschenden zu dem Schluss, dass der Zeitpunkt der Infusion von PD-L1-Inhibitoren bei fortgeschrittenem kleinzelligem Lungenkarzinom mit der Überlebenszeit korreliert. Eine frühe Gabe erwies sich als vorteilhaft.

Radiotherapie bei Kopf-Hals-Tumoren möglichst nicht pausieren!

Bei Menschen mit Kopf-Hals-Karzinomen, die eine Strahlentherapie erhalten, sind längere Therapieunterbrechungen riskant, mit deutlichen Einbußen bei Rezidivfreiheit und Überleben. Das gilt laut einer US-Studie vor allem für lokal fortgeschrittene Tumoren.

Uterusmyome sind mit Atherosklerose assoziiert

Frauen mit Uterusmyomen tragen ein höheres Risiko, atherosklerotische Komplikationen zu entwickeln, wie eine große populationsbasierte Kohortenstudie ans Licht gebracht hat.
