I always wanted to be a nurse, never imagining that I would do anything else. I loved helping patients recover and relished the close relationships with them. But as I got older, I found the long hours, shifts and emotional and physical stresses of the job difficult to cope with. So after ten years working for the NHS, I needed a change and I moved to an independent nursing recruitment agency.
