For many years, physicians have struggled with capturing treatment outcomes. Currently, scientists interested in outcomes research are exploring patient-centered outcome measures. We believe this is an appropriate emphasis for the assessment of quality of life disorders, because it is the patient’s perspective that drives decisions about further treatment (or other contact with the medical field).
