Einfluss einer Hormon- oder Hormonersatztherapie auf die Knochenheilung

Zusammenfassung

Der Zusammenhang zwischen Östrogenmangel und Osteoporose ist seit 1940 dank Fuller Albright belegt. Osteoporose erhöht aber nicht nur das Frakturrisiko und konsekutiv die Zahl der Frakturen, sondern kann auch eine Frakturheilungsstörung bedingen. Es stellt sich die Frage, inwiefern ein Östrogenmangel neben der Fragilität die Knochenheilung negativ beeinflusst. Die Durchsicht der aktuellen Literatur ergibt den Anhalt, dass ein Östrogenmangel die Frakturheilung in den verschiedenen Heilungsstadien negativ beeinflusst. Ferner besteht Evidenz, dass die Östrogengabe diese negativen Effekte antagonisiert. Inwiefern diese experimentellen Daten auf den Patienten übertragen werden können, bleibt Aufgabe zukünftiger klinischer Untersuchungen.
