Hintergrund und Fragestellung: Beta-2-Mimetika stehen im Verdacht, im Sport einen leistungssteigernden Effekt bei gesunden Nichtasthmatikern zu haben. Zahlreiche Studien befassten sich bereits mit den Auswirkungen auf aerobe oder anaerobe Leistungsfähigkeit. Die Erklärungen des Internationalen olympischen Komitees und einer gemeinsamen Arbeitsgruppe (Task Force) von ERS (European Respiratory Society) und EAACI (European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology) von 2008 sahen keine wissenschaftliche Evidenz für einen leistungssteigernden Effekt bei gesunden Probanden [1]. Die einzige soweit zum Thema bekannte Metaanalyse von Pluim et al. von 2011 fand keinen signifikanten Effekt auf anaerobe Leistungen [2]. …
