It took a long time, but now it is official: The Journal Impact Factor according to the Social Sciences Citation Index of the EJHE in 2009 is 1.34. This is a big success, which will increase the reputation of the journal. However, it is also a challenge for the editors to make sure that the quality of the journal and its impact will increase over the next years. With an impact factor of 1.34, the EJHE is number 56 of 243 listed economic journals. However, other health economic journals have a higher index value: PharmacoEconomics 2.61, Health Economics 2.01 and the Journal of Health Economics 1.89.
