Emotionsregulation

Die Fähigkeit zur Regulation von Emotionen stellt eine wichtige Entwicklungsaufgabe dar. Sie wird durch verschiedene Faktoren, wie die neurologische Entwicklung, das kindliche Temperament und das Erziehungsverhalten der Eltern maßgeblich beeinflusst.

Emotionsregulationsdefizite

Die aktuelle Forschung zeigt, dass Defizite der Emotionsregulation (d. h. der gehäufte Einsatz dysfunktionaler sowie die mangelhafte Anwendung funktionaler Regulationsstrategien) mit psychosozialen Beeinträchtigungen in Zusammenhang stehen. Zudem konnte eine grundlegende Beziehung von Emotionsregulationsdefiziten mit externalisierenden sowie internalisierenden Störungen des Kindesalters nachgewiesen werden.

Therapie

Mit dem Fokus auf Emotionsregulation in gezielten Behandlungsansätzen können diese viel versprechende Effekte erzielen. Eine Aufgabe für die zukünftige Forschung besteht darin, der spezifischen Funktion von Emotionsregulation für die Psychopathologie im Kindesalter weiter nachzugehen und diese Fähigkeit in die Therapie zu integrieren.
