Zusammenfassung

Die meisten Metaanalysen und Übersichtsarbeiten der letzten Jahre vermitteln den Eindruck, dass das „Rennen“ zwischen der Karotis-Endarterektomie und dem Karotis-Stenting zugunsten des operativen Eingriffs gelaufen ist [19]. Trotzdem lohnt es sich, einen näheren Blick auf die Frage zu werfen, mit welcher Methode und nicht zuletzt wann überhaupt bei Karotisstenosen Interventionen durchgeführt werden sollten.
