We are certainly in the midst of a rapidly changing era represented by the recently revisited acronym ‘VUCA’ (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity), which originated from the US Army jargon in the late twentieth century. The invention of letterpress printing by Johannes Gutenberg (1398–1468) in the fifteenth century revolutionised the academic world, and this medium has maintained its position as a key player in human society ever since. It indeed remains a significant force, but its influence appears to be waning in the face of the digital revolution over the past decade. Newspaper companies are facing a decline in their circulation globally and this trend extends beyond newspapers, affecting other print media such as books, magazines, and journals. Today, nearly all academic journals have shifted to digital publishing, with print versions persisting as a part of a hybrid publication model. …
