Wer beruflich darauf spezialisiert ist, medizinische Bilder auszuwerten, lässt sich durch klassische visuelle Illusionen weniger leicht täuschen als Nichtspezialisten. Dafür sprechen Daten einer kleinen britischen Studie. Die Ergebnisse kratzen an der Annahme, dass visuelle Spezialfertigkeiten nicht auf andere Bereiche generalisieren.

Erfolgschance der Thrombektomie lässt sich am CT ablesen

Wie gut die Chancen von Schlaganfallpatienten stehen, von einer endovaskulären Thrombektomie zu profitieren, lässt sich offenbar bereits am CT ohne Kontrast bei Klinikaufnahme abschätzen. Entscheidend scheint die Wasseraufnahme im Infarktgebiet zu sein.

Brustkrebs: Bestrahlung nach Mastektomie verliert an Bedeutung

Auf eine Thoraxwandbestrahlung nach einer Mastektomie können Frauen mit Brustkrebs und einem intermediären Rezidivrisiko heutzutage offenbar verzichten: In der Phase-3-Studie SUPREMO minderte die Bestrahlung nicht das Sterberisiko.
