Experience using denosumab for lung metastases of giant cell tumor of bone

Abstract

The treatment of unresectable multiple lung metastasis of giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) is challenging. In the current manuscript, we present a case who presented with multiple lung metastases of GCTB and was successfully managed with the use of denosumab allowing for surgical resection of the metastatic lesions that was previously deemed unresectable. Pathologic examination also clearly demonstrated the histological effects of denosumab. We emphasize on effective response to denosumab even in metastatic GCTB.
