An eight-day old female, born by normal vaginal delivery to a primigravid mother, was thought to be progressing normally after delivery, but was presented to a general practitioner with vomiting of one day duration. Whilst being examined by the doctor, she suffered cardiovascular collapse. As the death was unexpected it was reported to the State Coroner and a medico legal autopsy was performed. …
