4. Frühe metabolische Programmierungder langfristigen kindlichen Gesundheit

Zusammenfassung

Substratzufuhr, -utilisation und -metabolisierung sind in keinem anderen Lebensabschnitt von größerer Bedeutung als während der frühkindlichen Entwicklung (Brands u. Koletzko 2001; Koletzko et al. 2010 und 2012). Zahlreiche epidemiologische und experimentelle Untersuchungen sowie klinische Interventionsstudien zeigten, dass während sensitiver, begrenzter Zeitfenster der prä- und postnatalen Entwicklung wirksame metabolische Faktoren auch langfristige Auswirkungen auf die Struktur und Funktion des Organismus und auf Gesundheit und Krankheitsrisiken im hohen Lebensalter haben. Dieses Phänomen wird als frühe oder metabolische Programmierung der langfristigen Gesundheit bezeichnet (Koletzko et al. 2009, 2010 und 2011).
