Zusammenfassung

Direkte Kompositrestaurationen werden seit mehr als 25 Jahren eingesetzt und zählen heute zur Standardversorgung in der Zahnmedizin in Deutschland. Wurde in den frühen 1990er-Jahren die Anwendung von Kompositen im Seitenzahnbereich noch kritisch bewertet, so hat sich ihr Einsatz auch dort zunehmend durchgesetzt. Eine differenzierte Abgrenzung der Indikation für direkte und indirekte Restaurationen (wann Füllungen, wann Inlays, Teilkronen oder Kronen?) ist heute nicht mehr so klar darstellbar wie in der Vergangenheit.
