2. Gedächtnissysteme und Taxonomie von Gedächtnisstörungen

Zusammenfassung

Unterschiedliche Formen von Gedächtnisleistungen basieren auf unterschiedlichen kognitiven und emotionalen Prozessen, denen eine differenzielle Anatomie und differenzielle Transmittersysteme zugrunde liegen. Gemein ist den unterschiedlichen Gedächtnisformen, dass sie auf komplexen und dynamischen Prozessen beruhen, die uns das Speichern und den Abruf von Information erlauben, die nicht mehr in der Umwelt präsent ist. Basierend auf diesen Gedächtnisinhalten verändert sich unser Verhalten. Hinsichtlich der Dimensionen Zeit und Inhalt können verschiedene Gedächtnissysteme definiert werden. In Bezug auf die zeitliche Dimension werden das Arbeitsgedächtnis (früher: Kurzzeitgedächtnis) und das Langzeitgedächtnis unterschieden. Innerhalb des Langzeitgedächtnisses werden deklarative (explizite, d. h. dem Bewusstsein zugängliche) und non-deklarative (implizite, d. h. dem bewussten Zugriff nicht zugängliche) Formen des Gedächtnisses voneinander abgegrenzt.
