Geschlechtsspezifische Aspekte bei unipolarer Depression

Zusammenfassung

Bei der majoren Depression gibt es einige geschlechtsspezifische Unterschiede in Diagnostik, Symptomatik und Therapie — allerdings auch Gemeinsamkeiten. Relevant ist dabei ein möglicher Ergänzungsbedarf in den standardisierten auf Selbst- oder Fremdratings beruhenden Erhebungsinstrumenten. Besonders wichtig scheinen die hormonellen Einflüsse zu sein, da sie bei beiden Geschlechtern in der Entwicklung spezifischer Krankheitsbilder wie dem prämenstruellen Syndrom oder bei pathoplastischen Gestaltungen der Erkrankungen wie aggressiven Verhaltensweisen bei depressiv erkrankten Männern eine entscheidende Rolle spielen.
