Die Rolle von Makrophagen bei der Glomerulonephritis

Zusammenfassung

Makrophagen (MΦ) stellen eine hochgradig plastische Zellpopulation des angeborenen Immunsystems dar, die zwar lange bekannt, aber deren Funktion nur unvollständig verstanden ist. Das aktuell gängige Modell geht von 2 wesentlichen Aktivierungszuständen aus: inflammatorische M1- und antiinflammatorische M2-MΦ. Beide Phänotypen sind in Tiermodellen und beim Menschen bei den meisten Glomerulonephritiden nachweisbar. Ihre Hemmung oder Depletion reduziert im Tiermodell den Schaden, die Halbmondformation und die Fibrose. Die genauen Aktionsmechanismen der MΦ sind hierbei jedoch noch unklar. Bevor MΦ als Therapieziele oder Therapeutika bei Menschen mit Nierenerkrankungen fungieren können, wird ein deutlich besseres Verständnis dieser komplexen Zellen mit all ihren Funktionen benötigt.
