Es sind mit Sicherheit nicht nur die onkologischen Erkrankungen, welche uns Urologen in der täglichen Betreuung von Patienten herausfordern. So ist es die Harnröhrenstriktur, eine gutartige Erkrankung, welche an uns Urologen besondere Anforderungen stellt. Dies liegt sicherlich auch daran, dass es bis auf die Versorgung von Patienten nach traumatischen Harnröhrenverletzungen und seit 2016 von Seiten der Amerikanischen Gesellschaft für Urologie (https://​www.​auanet.​org/​education/​guidelines/​male-urethral-stricture.​cfm) nach wie vor (zumindest im europäischen Raum) keine allgemeinen und sinnvollen Leitlinienempfehlungen zur Behandlung gibt. Grund hierfür sind ggf. die unbefriedigenden Studiendaten in der aktuellen Literatur, welche sich meist auf methodisch minderwertige Studien beziehen und diese nur eingeschränkt miteinander verglichen werden können [1]. …
