Expectoration of foreign objects has been reported mainly in adults. Expectorated objects have included staples after lung volume reduction surgery (metalloptysis) [8], gallstones after laparoscopic cholecystectomy [12], masses of tumor tissue or polyps [11], and bullets [10] migrating through lung parenchyma and eventually expectorated. There is little information about expectoration of foreign materials in children. …
