A 58-year-old man developed cutaneous drug eruption during treatment with hydroxychloroquine for rheumatoid arthritis. Four days following the hydroxychloroquine therapy [route and dosage not stated], he developed a widespread pruritic, macular, erythematous and symmetrically-distributed rash. His hydroxychloroquine and findings of skin biopsy were compatible with drug eruption. Hydroxychloroquine was discontinued, following which his rash resolved. He had received hydroxychloroquine 20 years previously for several years without any complications, and had discontinued hydroxychloroquine as his wife wanted to get pregnant. …
