Zahlreiche Studien belegen die Effektivität von Hypnose als eine wirkungs- volle und erfolgreiche Methode zur Reduktion von Angst. Die plastischen Veränderungen der Hirnaktivität während Hypnose konnten mithilfe der Elektroenzephalographie (EEG), Positronen-Emissions-Tomographie (PET) und funktionellen Magnetresonanztomographie (fMRI) untersucht werden. Die erhaltenen Erkenntnisse können im klinischen Setting in Medizin und Zahnmedizin zum Wohl des Patienten umgesetzt werden
