Desmoid tumors, also called aggressive fibromatoses, are rare fibroblastic/myofibroblastic neoplasms that infiltrate muscles and tendons. They are benign tumors, but can be locally destructive. Desmoid tumors can occur anywhere in the body, and occasionally occur in the abdomen. Abdominal desmoids have been known to be associated with female sex (possibly due to increased estrogen), a history of abdominal surgery, and FAP (possibly due to ß-catenin mutations) [
