„That the infant is born with the awareness specifically receptive to subjective states in other persons“ (Trevarthen und Aitken 2001, S. 4) und „The operation of an intrinsic motive formation (IMF), that developed in the core of the brain before birth is evident in the tightly integrated intermodal sensory-motor coordination of a newborn infant’s orienting to stimuli and preferential learning of human signals, by the temporal coherence and intrinsic rhythms of infant behaviour, especially in communication, and neonates‘ extraordinary capacities for reactive and evocative imitation“ (Trevarthen und Aitken 2001, S. 3). Weiter: „We believe that the existence of specialised innate „human-environment-expectant“ social regulatory and intersubjective functions in the infant mind has been firmly established, and argue that the corresponding anticipatory motives constitute an essential framework for the regulation of all human cognitive development; guiding, limiting, extending, and evaluating what the individual can discover inside and outside his or her body“ (Trevarthen und Aitken 2001, S. 4).

Hier unterscheidet sich Lichtenstein von Bråten.

„Thus, the affective core self relies not only on biology, but also on continuous experience itself, which influences memory and procedural knowledge in non-conscious life. The affective core self is also linked to the regulating and background emotional influences with caretakers and others in the child’s life“ (Levinson 2000, S. 313).

5
„Present moments become represented as‚ schemas of ways of being with another“ (Stern et al. 1998, S. 911).

6
„Ongoing regulation involves the repetition of sequenced experiences giving rise to expectancies and thus, becomes the basis of implicit relational knowing“ (Stern et al.1998, S. 907).
