Implant removal in orthopaedics remains one of the most debated issues in clinical practice, despite the frequency of such procedures in elective surgeries, with no consistent guidelines. The recent survey by Masoni et al. [1] published in the current issue of “International Orthopaedics”, provides valuable insights into Italian surgeons’ attitudes toward hardware removal, sometimes aligning with and sometimes diverging from international trends.
