Erforderliche Anzahl von Implantaten für eine abnehmbare Versorgung im zahnlosen Kiefer

Zusammenfassung

Totalprothesenträger sind häufig trotz eines adäquaten Prothesendesigns unzufrieden mit ihrer prothetischen Versorgung. Während im Oberkiefer i. d. R. die Gaumenbedeckung und das dadurch verminderte Geschmacksempfinden bemängelt wird, klagen Träger von Unterkiefertotalprothesen häufig über schlechten Sitz und verminderte Kaufähigkeit. Insbesondere Totalprothesenträger profitieren enorm von einer Implantattherapie. Die Datenlage zu implantatunterstützten Totalprothesen im Unterkiefer ist deutlich umfangreicher als zu entsprechenden Prothesen im Oberkiefer. Im Oberkiefer sollte nach aktuellen Daten eine Mindestanzahl von 4 nicht unterschritten werden. Misserfolge und Komplikationen treten bei 2 oder 3 Implantaten vermehrt auf. Im Unterkiefer sind 2 und 4 Implantate sehr gut untersucht und können als Therapie empfohlen werden. Ein Implantat zeigt vielversprechende Ergebnisse und kann in Fällen, in denen 2 oder mehr Implantate nicht realisierbar sind, umgesetzt werden. Die Datenlage zu 3 Implantaten ist aktuell gering, erste Ergebnisse sind positiv.
