Das Erysipel ist eine häufig vorkommende, akut auftretende, bakterielle Infektion der Haut, die oft mit Systemzeichen einhergeht. Diagnostisch ist die Kombination der klassischen klinischen Präsentation und erhöhten Entzündungswerten wegweisend. Nach Antibiotikabehandlung heilt das Erysipel meist komplikationslos ab, allerdings können sich chronisch-rezidivierende Verläufe etablieren.
