Bolusrechner: Entlastung im Alltag und flexible Abstimmung der Insulintherapie mit der Ernährung

Zusammenfassung

Bei Diabetes werden Bolusrechner eingesetzt, um die passende Insulindosis für eine Mahlzeit zu ermitteln und Glukosespiegel oberhalb des Zielbereichs zu korrigieren. Laut Studien wirkt sich ihr Einsatz positiv auf klinische sowie psychosoziale Outcomes aus. Es ist eine Vielzahl digitaler Tools als Smartphone-Apps oder integriert in Medizinprodukte verfügbar. Die Funktionalität und Komplexität verschiedener Bolusrechner sind jedoch unterschiedlich, und nicht alle Anwendungen sind wissenschaftlich untersucht und als Medizinprodukte zugelassen. Auch hängt der Erfolg der Verwendung eines Bolusrechners von der Genauigkeit der zur Berechnung genutzten Glukosemessmethode, der Vollständigkeit der eingegebenen, möglichst aktuellen Informationen sowie der Sicherheit in der Bedienung und Programmierung des Bolusrechners ab. Betroffene sollten sich daher vor Einsatz eines Bolusrechners bei ihrem Diabetesteam informieren und ggf. Peer-Support-Netzwerke zum Erfahrungsaustausch nutzen.
