This is a didactically well-written book on stereotactic radiosurgery of the brain. It is written by a pioneering neurosurgeon in the field who shares his vast personal experience in performing stereotactic radiosurgery of the central nervous system (CNS) using Gamma Knife technology for the last 3 decades. Gamma Knife technology itself is a pioneering technology in radiosurgery and has been considered the gold standard in stereotactic radiosurgery of the CNS until today. High precision lesions are placed within the skull using stereotactic radiosurgery. Therefore, the title of the book is adequately termed Gamma Knife Neurosurgery rather than Gamma Knife Radiosurgery. The book’s title correctly implies that radiosurgery of the CNS should be considered an act of neurosurgery that accordingly should be performed by neurosurgeons. …
