Zusammenfassung

Das restriktive symptomatische Zungenband kann im Laufe des Lebens zu wechselnden Symptomen, Kompensationen und Funktionsstörungen führen und wird deshalb als Symptomwandler bezeichnet. Der Beitrag erläutert die Embryologie, Histologie, Anatomie und Prävalenz der symptomatischen Ankyloglossie. Klassifizierungssysteme und anatomische Einteilungen werden besprochen und Checklisten zur Erfassung und Dokumentation der Symptome vorgestellt. Die Symptome des Säuglings und bei Kindern, Jugendlichen und Erwachsenen mit eingeschränkter Zungenbeweglichkeit werden aufgezeigt.
