Knochenersatzmaterialien zur Prophylaxe und Rekonstruktion knöcherner Defekte

Zusammenfassung

Knöcherne Rekonstruktionen werden immer häufiger, seitdem dentale Implantate allgemein akzeptiert wurden. Nach anfänglicher Verwendung von Eigenknochen aus Beckenkamm, Fibula, Kieferwinkel, Kinn oder Schädelkalotte änderte sich der Trend hin zu Ersatzmaterialien. Sie sind unbegrenzt verfügbar und gehen mit reduzierter Patientenmorbidität einher, da kein Eingriff zur Knochenentnahme erforderlich ist. Allerdings spielen Defektkonfiguration, Material und Technik eine wichtige Rolle dabei, aus den unterschiedlichen zur Verfügung stehenden Materialien die richtige Wahl angesichts des vorgesehenen Einsatzbereichs zu treffen. Auch werden die Beeinflussung von Wundheilungsprozessen und die biologische Aktivität bestimmter Stoffe besonders bei umfangreichen Augmentationen immer wichtiger. Daher werden im vorliegenden Beitrag u. a. Wundheilungsunterstützer, welche die Einheilung von Knochenersatzmaterialien fördern, vorgestellt.
