Zusammenfassung

Die meisten Patienten mit Morbus Parkinson können ihre Erkrankung gut mit medikamentösen Therapien kontrollieren. Mit zunehmender Therapiedauer über Jahre können aber Wirkungsschwankungen und unwillkürliche Überbewegungen auftreten, die auch mit pharmakologischen Kombinationstherapien nicht mehr zufriedenstellend behandelt werden können. Mit der „Tiefen Hirnstimulation“ steht für diese Patienten eine Behandlungsalternative zur Verfügung.
