The Deloyers procedure is a useful technique after extended left hemicoloectomy when the middle colic arteries are too short to allow tension free anastomosis of transverse colon to rectum. Deloyers reported that complete mobilization of the right colon and counter-clockwise rotation around the axis of the ileocolic vessels enable tension-free colorectal anastomosis while preserving perfusion [
1]. In his method, the middle colic vessels are transected, and the right colic vessels are often transected as well. This procedure is typically performed after colectomy for Hirschsprung disease or in cases of severe constipation, but Manceau et al. [
2] reported a case series of the use of this technique in operations for a range of indications, including colon cancer. The Deloyers procedure is usually performed via open surgery, and only very rarely is it done laparoscopically [
