Abstract

Adnexal masses are discovered in approximately 5 % of pregnant patients. The majority will resolve spontaneously without intervention. As such asymptomatic masses can be monitored conservatively with serial sonography and review of symptoms. Surgery is indicated for symptomatic masses or masses that are complex, solid, or over 6 – 10 cm. Minimally invasive surgery is a safe and effective approach for management in the majority of these patients. Specific details related to maternal and fetal health should be considered in this setting.
