Vitiligo is characterized by sharply demarcated, depigmented macules and can be triggered by even minor trauma, which is known as the Koebner phenomenon [1]. Most lasers and IPL devices used in dermatology emit light that is strongly absorbed by melanin and can cause epidermal damage. Consequently, there are concerns about the safety of lasers in vitiligo.
