Zusammenfassung

Unzureichende Körperressourcen gefährden zunächst die Funktions reserven und dann die Funktion lebenswichtiger Organe. Dies ist offenkundig. Dennoch überraschen der geringe Stellenwert der Ernährung und der verwandten Stoffwechselprozesse in der klinischen Onkologie und die freiwillige Beschränkung auf zumeist grobe Zusammenhänge, wenn es um die Diagnostik und Therapie vermuteter oder offensichtlicher nutritiver und metabolischer Störungen geht.
