I read the article by authors on surgical volumes in low- and middle-income countries with great interest [
1]. I congratulate the authors for producing an important article in the context of the targets set by the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery (LCoGS). I would like to note special appreciation for the use of systematic review (SR) methodology that follows the population-concept-context framework. However, I am doubtful whether the findings of this SR are exhaustive and reliable. The SR might be missing relevant studies from presented countries and also have countries missing altogether. …
