Dr. Marocolo et al. recently published an article in the European Journal of Applied Physiology on the ischemic preconditioning (IPC) and exercise performance: shedding light through smallest worthwhile change (Marocolo et al.
2019). We read with high interest their systematic review with meta-analysis to update the effects of ischemic preconditioning on exercise performance and physiological responses and we would like to congratulate them for their impressive work. Also, we agree with them that IPC procedures should be improved in future studies, as suggested in our previous published article (Caru et al.
2019b). With this letter to the editor, we want to help Marocolo et al., in their process to revise and refine IPC procedures and to add more knowledge on the topic of IPC in relation to sports performance. …
