In addition, activation of the WNT/β-catenin signaling axis, as a result of activating mutations in CTNNB1 or inactivating mutations in the negative regulators AXIN and APC, is commonly observed in tumors of the colon, stomach and liver [16–24]. Mutations in APC and CTNNB1 are found in uncommon pancreatic cancer types including acinar cell carcinomas, pancreatoblastoma and solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (SPN) [24–27].
