Book cover Ultrastructure of Human Gametogenesis and Early Embryogenesis

Part of the book series: Electron Microscopy in Biology and Medicine ((EMBM,volume 5))

Abstract

The technique of in vitro fertilization (IVF) involves the removal of the oocyte from the ovary under negative pressure and the exposure of the oocyte to a series of manipulations and solutions that are very different to those experienced in vivo.
