Abstract
Almost all therapeutic laser applications are of a thermal nature, i.e. the therapeutic effect due to laser impact is caused by a thermal denaturation and/or inactivation of proteins and enzymes. A knowledge of the kinetics of thermal denaturation (see Chap. 1) is therefore of great importance for a better understanding of the coagulation process and for making a prediction of the degree of a thermal lesion possible.
