Screening Orthodontic Patients for Temporomandibular Disorders

Abstract

The traditional oro-dental screening includes three major components: (1) caries history and current dental situation, (2) periodontal history and current findings of concern, and (3) oral cancer screening and soft tissue exam. Orthodontists also must screen every new patient for temporomandibular disorder signs and symptoms.
