Prinzipien der pädiatrischen Traumatologie

Zusammenfassung

Verletzungen im Kindesalter sind die häufigste Ursache für stationäre Behandlungen und bis zum 16. Lebensjahr auch die häufigste Todesursache. Die umfangreiche Problematik der Kindertraumatologie mit den Skelett- und Weichteilverletzungen soll hier nicht im Zentrum der Betrachtungen stehen, da Lehrbücher über die Skelettverletzungen, die Verletzungen der Muskeln, Sehnen und Nerven in ausreichender Zahl und Kompetenz zur Verfügung stehen. Wenn auch die Extremitätenverletzungen eine Versorgung durch unterschiedlich ausgebildete Fachkollegen wie Kinderchirurgen, Unfallchirurgen und Kinderorthopäden erfahren, so wird bei den zentralen Problemen wie beim „battered child“, beim Polytrauma, beim Thoraxtrauma und beim Abdominaltrauma immer ein Kinderchirurg mit in das Team der behandelnden Ärzte einbezogen werden müssen.
