Zusammenfassung

Die konzeptionelle Debatte zu Health Literacy im Kindes- und Jugendalter ist durch ein hohes Maß an Fragmentierung und Differenzierung sowie das Fehlen eines schlüssigen theoretischen Rahmens gekennzeichnet. Dieser explorative Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über den aktuellen konzeptionellen Diskurs zu Health Literacy in der Kindheit und Jugend und bietet eine kritische Analyse und Reflexion an. Zudem wird ein Vorschlag für ein zielgruppenorientiertes Konzeptverständnis gemacht, welches Health Literacy als ein soziales, relationales Konstrukt definiert und beinhaltet wie Kinder und Jugendliche gesundheitsbezogene, multimodale Informationen aus verschiedenen Quellen in unterschiedlichen Situationen des Alltags und im Kontext der Gesundheitsversorgung suchen, bewerten und mit diesen umgehen. Hierbei wird ein ressourcenfokussierter Ansatz vorgeschlagen welcher die Rechte von Kindern und Jugendlichen auf Informationen, Teilhabe und Schutz gleichermaßen hervorhebt und zudem die generationalen Wechselbeziehungen sowie die kontextuelle Einbettung von Health Literacy fokussiert.
