3. Das Konzept der Pollen-Panallergene: Profiline und Polcalcine

Zusammenfassung

Profiline und Polcalcine zählen wegen ihres ubiquitären Vorkommens und der hohen Kreuzreaktivität zur Gruppe der Panallergene. Bis heute wurden 44 Profilin- und 15 Polcalcinallergene identifiziert. Profiline sind Aktin-bindende Proteine – was Funktionen in einer ganzen Reihe essenzieller, zellulärer Prozesse erklärt – und konnten in diversen Nahrungsmitteln sowie in Pollen und Latex nachgewiesen werden. Die Funktion der Polcalcine beinhaltet die Regulation des Ca++-Haushalts, daher rührt auch ihre Bezeichnung. Ihr Vorkommen ist auf Pollen beschränkt. Reaktionen auf Panallergene verursachen im Hauttest meist ein Bild multipler Sensibilisierungen, wobei spezifisches IgE gegenüber einer Reihe biologisch nicht verwandter Allergenquellen messbar ist. Häufig sind diese Sensibilisierungen oder Kreuzreaktionen jedoch irrelevant, nur in seltenen Fällen stellen Panallergene klinisch relevante Majorallergene dar.
