Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of emotion constructs and psychotherapy in the conceptualization of mental health in traditional Chinese medicine. The discussion makes suggestions for possible future studies of cultural resources which might prove useful for the improvement of mental health care both in Chinese society as well as in comparative, cross-cultural psychiatry.
