32. Pankreastransplantation

Summary

The indication for pancreatic transplantation currently accepted is juvenile diabetes with renal failure. Up to April, 1, 1975, 39 such transplantations had been performed, including our own 3 cases, and 2 of the 39 patients were living with functioning grafts. Application after total pancreatectomy and especially after cancer surgery cannot be contemplated for some time. Prerequisites to be fulfilled are the feasibility of inducing tolerance and a low-risk transplantation technique. Patients considered for transplants should be young and their carcinoma should have been treated by radical, total pancreatectomy.

Zusammenfassung

Die heute akzeptierte Indikation zur Pankreastransplantation ist die juvenile Diabetes mit Niereninsuffizienz. Die Weltstatistik umfaßt bis zum 1.4. 75 39 Transplantationen, inkl. 3 eigene; 2 der 39 Patienten lebten mit funktionierendem Transplantat. Die Anwendung bei Status nach totaler Pankreatektomie und insbesondere nach Pankreascarcinom-Operation wird erst in weiterer Zukunft ins Auge gefaßt werden können. Voraussetzungen sind die Möglichkeit der Induktion einer immunologischen Toleranz und eine risikoarme Transplantationstechnik, mögliche Kandidaten junge Patienten nach kurativer totaler Pankreatektomie.
