Abstract
Salzmann's corneal dystrophy develops from proliferation of connective tissue in a pannus area. Vascular connective tissue apparently becomes avascular in the course of time. In addition, spheroid (keratinoid, elastotic) microglobular homogenous or granular deposits appear, as in other chronic corneal disturbances.
Zusammenfassung
Zur Salzmannschen Hornhautdystrophie kommt es durch Proliferation von Bindegwebe im Bereiche eines Pannus. Es wird dabei offenbar vaskularisiertes Bindegewebe im Laufe der Zeit gefäßfrei. Zusätzlich treten — wie bei anderen chronischen Hornhautschädigungen — sphäroidale (keratinoide, elastotische) kleinstkugelige, homogene oder granulierte Einlagerungen auf.
