Zusammenfassung

Die fokussierte Echokardiographie besitzt einen zunehmenden Stellenwert zur bettseitigen Diagnostik in der Akutmedizin. Anhand der fokussierten Echokardiographie können verschiedene kardiale Pathologien, wie z. B. ein Perikarderguss, eine linksventrikuläre Dysfunktion, eine Rechtsherzbelastung, relevante Herzklappenfehler sowie eine Dissektion der Aorta ascendens, in Kürze ausgeschlossen bzw. nachgewiesen werden. Die Interpretation der echokardiographischen Befunde sollte stets im klinischen Kontext erfolgen.
